Britney Spears: I`ll lock sons up if they want to be stars
Britney Spears has revealed she wouldn`t allow her sons to become child stars.
The singer began performing as a young girl and shot to worldwide fame when she was a teenager with her single Baby One More Time. Since becoming one of the most successful music artists in the world her personal life has been under constant scrutiny and she suffered a public meltdown in 2007.
Britney wants her two sons, four-year-old Sean Preston and Jayden James, three, to have a more normal upbringing than she did and admits she would be unhappy if they chose to pursue a career in entertainment before they are adults.
When Britney was asked in an interview with Cosmopolitan what she would do if her kids said they wanted to be in the entertainment business, she replied: "I`d lock them in their rooms until they turned 30."
Britney loves being a mother, but has revealed potty training her boys was the most challenging thing she has faced since being a parent. She also confessed she is dreading the moment her sons ask her "how babies are made".
The 28-year-old star is currently working on her new album and enjoys spending all her free time with Sean Preston and Jayden James.
"Things are pretty quiet right now," she explained. "I`ve been spending a lot of time at home with my boys. They just started karate class, which is super cute!"
When asked what advice she would give a young girl who wants to make it as a singer, Britney said, "I`d tell her: life is short, have fun."
